Wednesday sailed quite smoothly. Raghav was happy as they had grabbed a big project.
He brought sweets in the evening as he returned from Office.
"Ajjuu..we made it Dude! The Precision guys are so happy!! We got the yearly deal...also they are referring us to their clients as well!
This is big Dude!"
Raghav was beaming with delight! The friends were extremely happy!
As Aanchal was about to leave,
"Ek favour chahiye tha!"
"Ji"
"Woh this deal is quite big for us...also kal na mera birthday hai..Cafe me woh Rainbow cake order kar dengi??Aap wahin jaa rahi hai na"
"Ji sure" Aanchal nodded
"Aur kuch chahiye ho toh message kar dijiyega...chalti hoon"
As she left
"Beer piyega? Yaar aaj toh banti hai?"
"Pagal hai kya?? Yahan kahan milegi?"
And Raghav opened his Jacket, he had smuggled 4 cans inside!
"Aur kisine dekh liya toh?"
"Abe doctor 9 baje round pe aayega...abhi time hai!"
The boys were excited and suddenly the doctor walked in
"Ye kya ho raha hai?"
"Nahi kuch nahi"
Raghav got scared"humne pi thodi hai..."
The doctor confiscated it and gave both of them a good scolding and threatened to complain about them.
They pleaded for forgiveness and finally the doctor agreed but didn't give the beer back!
This left them sulking bad!
The next morning Aanchal came over with the cake and meals.
They finished the breakfast and then Raghav cut the cake and fed Arjun.
The boys hugged lovingly. There was so much to celebrate!
It was Raghav's birthday, they had a good professional success and Pihu right in front of them.
Life just couldn't be better today!
They both loved her deeply..Arjun though completely unversed of Raghav's feelings towards her, did feel that Raghav and Aanchal were comfortable with each other. It somehow really provided solace to him.
Aanchal over these past few days had been loving their bond and was glad to see them together all the time!
Though not jealous, she still felt a void in her heart... could ever she mean so much to someone?
Would anyone love her like this and be so emotionally dependent on her?
Would anyone be ever so bothered about her?
Lost in her thoughts, she was looking out of the window.
"Cake...please cake lijiye na aap..aapne breakfast bhi nahi kiya ab tak" Raghav spoke to her
" Haan Pihu, nashta karle bachhe"
Arjun to seconded Raghav
"Thank you, lekin mera Vrat hai aaj"
Their eyes widened "Phir se?..aaj kyun?" They spoke together
"Woh thursday ka...kaafi saalon se rakh rahi hoon"
The boys gave each other concerned looks,but Arjun wasn't taking it any lightly now
"Hafte me ye teesra din hai..aise kon karta hai?? Tabiyat kharab ho jayegi Pihu...aur ye koi umar hai itne pooja paath aur vrat karne ki? Koi zaroorat nahi hai in sab ki... nashta karo chup chaap" Arjun's voice was laced with emotions and concerns
"Aap pareshan na ho...mujhe aadat hai" Aanchal however answered briefly and rather coldly
The boys were worried to say the least
"Dekhiye..please..galat mat samajhiye lekin itna fasting theek nahi hai" Raghav also spoke
"Aapko aaj office nahi jaana? Agar aap yahin hai toh main chalti hoon, do logon ke rukne ka koi matlab nahi hai" Aanchal literally cut him in between
Raghav and Arjun exchanged glances, she wasn't paying any heed to Arjun's concern...Raghav hence didn't even stand a chance.
He then left the siblings alone...Arjun had to fight a few battles alone!
As soon as he left, Arjun's restlessness resurfaced..
"Pihu..beta, ye...please kuch kha le Gudiya...aise bhooke nahi rehte"
"Aap please mere liye pareshan na ho"
Aanchal replied
"Tujhe bhookh nahi lagti kya? Aise thodi karte hai"
Arjun got irritated
Aanchal looked at him with piercing eyes
"Lagi thi, bhookh hi lagi thi....aur iske siwa galti hi kya thi meri?
Bahut badi keemat chukai maine... Bhook lagi thi, khana hi maanga tha bas" Aanchal's tone was cold yet tearful
"Us din ke baad...phir himmat nahi hui...jab bhi kuch maanga..
Aanchal's face had a stoned expression
"Ab nahi lagti... aur na hi kisise kabhi kuch maangne ki himmat hoti hai"
Arjun was devastated to say the least...he felt awful and distressed and as if the day couldn't get any worse the doctor walked in
"How are you feeling?"
Arjun could only nod
"Aap inki kon?"
Aanchal looked blankly at the doctor
"Dr. ye meri choti behen hai"
"Real sister?"
"Ji"
"Aur woh ladka?? Your brother?"
"Nahi woh mera dost hai"
The doctor sighed at looked at Aanchal
"Aapke parents aane wale hai?"
"Ji, woh ab is duniya me nahi rahe" Aanchal replied
"Oh ok...dekhiye, ye aapke bade bhai hai so I know it's difficult, lekin better hoga agar aap inki company par thoda dhyaan de..
I will recommend if you spend maximum time with him, otherwise he would be upto no good..especially with his friend around "
Aanchal was puzzled and Arjun had a lump in his throat
"Yeh...kal raat maine is room se confiscate ki thi " and the doctor handed her the pack of beer cans
"Aapke jaane ke baad....this is what your brother is upto. Please inhe samjhaiye, Jab tak IV aur antibiotics chal rahi hai..ye sab na le"
Aanchal's was shocked and her eyes welled up...and seeing her, Arjun's face froze!
As the doctor left, Pihu covered her mouth with dupatta and sobbed hard!
Arjun's heart broke into a million pieces..
"Pihu...Pihu...jhooth nahi bol raha...Raghu laya tha par nai pi humne...
Kasam se haath bhi nahi lagaya"
Aanchal rushed in the washroom and cried hard
Arjun kept on knocking and pleading
" Pihu...please..sach me..Pihu sun na please...Pihu"
He too finally broke down and wept!
Sometime later as Pihu came out, Arjun tried to apologize, Pihu's sobs hadn't really subsided..
Arjun held her dupatta..."Pihu...sorry..please"
"Please chhodiye, khane ka time ho raha hai"
She took out food, and sat near him
Arjun sat with his head bowed down and was really upset with himself
"Khana kha lijiye..please"
"Nahi chahiye " Arjun spoke in a broken voice
Aanchal finally composed herself
"Dekhiye kam problems nahi hai meri life me.. mere liye ye sab bahut mushkil hai.
Is accident ki wajah sirf main hoon aur isiliye yahan aati hoon, aap jald se jald theek ho jaaye, phir aapko jo karna hai kariyega...koi rok tok nahi hogi..koi kuch nahi kahega..
Lekin jab tak yahan hai, dawa chal rahi hai..behtar hoga aap in sab se door rahen...
Ek baar theek ho jaiye, phir main apna chehra bhi nahi dikhaoongi..aap bilkul free honge..apni zindagi jeena ke liye"
And forcefully she fed him the entire lunch.
She didn't speak to him post that and Arjun kept on mentally cursing himself
When Raghav returned in the evening, he could easily sense the tension in the air. Aanchal left as soon as he came without saying a word or even passing a glance.
Raghav too felt extremely remorseful and wanted to apologize to her and Arjun as well.
But the moment he sat near Arjun to say sorry, Arjun hugged him tightly and cried bitterly!
